Even though I later studied philology, got certified, and worked in traditional language education, something never felt right. I saw how ineffective rule-heavy methods were — in fact, after five years of school German, the only German that truly stuck was from a TV show I used to watch.

Everything finally clicked when I started learning Spanish on my own through stories, YouTube videos, and intuitive, context-based methods. That’s when it became crystal clear:

People don’t learn languages through fear, charts, and pressure.
They learn through context, curiosity, and real human connection.

That’s exactly what I bring into my teaching today.

Bok, ja sam Veronika!

A Croatian from Zagreb who’s been obsessed with languages since before I could properly write.
I was the kid who learned English through songs at three years old… and the 10-year-old who was “teaching” it to older cousins for fun.
